SATS Premier Lounge Singapore Changi (Terminal 2) Review
We flew into Singapore from Sydney, en route to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), and decided to spend our layover checking out the SATS Premier Lounge in Terminal 2. Location and First Impressions
The lounge is located airside in Terminal 2. Once you head upstairs toward the airline lounges, you will find it right next to the Singapore Airlines First Class lounge. When you reach the top of the escalator, make sure to turn right, not left again.
Check-in was a breeze. While they do take advance reservations, we found that none were actually needed for our visit. We had complimentary access from LoungePair, which are also an easy way to purchase entry. We had an email from them, entered our name and showed the QR code and boarding pass. Simple.
The lounge itself is spacious with lots of seating and clean power points everywhere, which is exactly what you need to recharge devices on a layover. A massive win for parents (and those wanting a quieter environment) is the completely separate kids’ area. The toilets are kept impeccably clean and feature the highly-rated “bum wash” bidet function.
Food & Drink: Self-Serve Pol Roger and Local Delicacies
When it comes to the great lounge debate between Australia and Singapore, Australia definitely wins on barista coffee and premium spirits (I missed my Campari). However, Singapore wins on the food front.
The hot buffet is fantastic. We loaded up on sweet and sour protein, biryani rice, and an excellent fish curry.
While the spirits selection might not rival an Aussie Qantas lounge, the drinks here are entirely self-serve—a big tick in my book. The real standout? The bubbles on ice were French Pol Roger. We also had a great time experimenting with their interesting selection of canned drinks. Both the canned pineapple juice and the soybean drink were delicious and highly recommended.
Free Massage Chairs and Showers
If you want to freshen up between flights, showers are available. You just need to grab the towels from the front reception desk.
Much like the SATS Premier Lounge in Terminal 3, this T2 location features two free massage chairs. However, be warned: they are incredibly popular here, so you might have to hover to snag one.
The Wi-Fi Situation
The only real letdown of our visit was the Wi-Fi. The signal was weak and kept dropping out, so I eventually gave up and switched back to my travel eSIM data to get things done.
How to Get Access
We gained access using a LoungePair freebie. LoungePair proved to be incredibly flexible. Because they allow you to change the name on the pass at any time until it is used, we simply clicked the link in our LoungePair email, updated our passenger names on the fly, and showed the digital passes at the desk.
If you don’t have a gifted pass, you can easily purchase access or use a credit card perk. We likely could have accessed this lounge (or another one for longer) using the 10 lounge passes that come with the Bankwest Platinum card. Worth it if…
✓ You want a hot shower, a massage chair, and hot food before your next flight.
✓ You are transiting through Terminal 2 and have time to reset.
✕ You are just doing a quick hop within Asia and want to explore Changi’s free terminal attractions instead.
Of all the airports in the world, Singapore Changi is the one where paying for a lounge is truly optional. The terminal itself is a destination. You can visit the butterfly garden, check out the giant carp and orchids, or just sit at a cafe and eat traditional Kaya toast. But if you are stopping over en route from Australia and you already know Changi well, getting a quiet place to simply “blob” is absolutely priceless.
