Credit Cards are one of the best way to get points fast in Australia. Here we will be reviewing some of the current cards on offer and letting you know which ones we are using.

Previously, when travelling overseas, both Milton and Drew swore by the ANZ Travel Adventures VISA card which is one of a handful of Australian-issued cards that don’t charge an international transaction fee and still accrue points. However those points and travel credits end up with Virgin Velocity, with dubious value. A new alternative is the CommBank Ultimate Awards Credit Card, which we are trying out. It has a monthly fee that can be waived with a minimum spend.

We also review debit cards, an underrated way to access your own money when travelling. For totally fee free consider the Ubank Debit Card. If you are looking for more features there is the new $10 per month CommBank World Debit Mastercard or the NAB Platinum Visa Debit Card.

The advantage of these cards is that they allow you to access your funds with no domestic bank charges (think ATM access and 3% transaction fee) when travelling overseas.

In 2016 the Australian Government estimated 5.9m Australians travelling overseas every year. Imagine how much can be saved by choosing the right debit or credit card for your holiday expenses.
